In 2014 she installed 99 solar panels on her property, and is a member of Fossil Free Tompkins, a local environmental group in Ithaca, NY, working politically across Tompkins county to reduce dependence on fossil fuels. Their work includes political action against new fossil fuel infrastructure such as proposed conversion of the Cayuga Power Plant in Lansing to burn natural gas, the Crestwood Storage Facility in Seneca Lake and new pipelines.
