Two evangelical churches in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin -- the Pathways Community Church and the Prairie Life Center Church -- have merged and become the local affiliate of the Heartland Community Church, a 6,000 member mega-church based in Rockford, Illinois. At the first service of the newly merged church, Nov. 4, 2007, Mark Bankord, directional leader for Heartland, and John McNary, lead pastor for the Sun Prairie branch, lead a service and introduced a pre-recorded video sermon by Mike Breaux, a teaching pastor at Willow Creek Community Church in S. Barrington, IL. "We're all so excited about this coming together," said Bankord. "It's like a perfect storm, in a good way, so much energy coming together from different directions."<br />
